HAPBIO HONORED AT THE ASEAN INCLUSIVE BUSINESS AWARDS 2026

HapBio® Compostable received the ASEAN Inclusive Business Awards 2026 on September 22 in Pasay City, Philippines. The award recognizes businesses that create economic value while opening opportunities for workers and communities. For HAPBIO, it also marks a new step. Now, our compostable packaging story reaches partners across Southeast Asia.

ASEAN Inclusive Business Awards 2026: A Regional Stage for Shared Growth

The ceremony took place at the 9th ASEAN Inclusive Business Forum, alongside the 58th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting. The Philippines hosted it with the ASEAN Secretariat, UN ESCAP, the OECD and the ASEAN Foundation. In total, organizers expected around 300 officials, business leaders and development partners.

The awards highlight models that bring low-income workers, small farmers and MSMEs into regional supply chains. In other words, the judges look for growth that more people can share.

Taking Compostable Packaging to Our ASEAN Friends

ASEAN markets face a shared challenge. Single-use plastic packaging remains common, while buyers expect better options. That is why a regional stage matters for a packaging brand from Vietnam.

At the forum, HAPBIO’s compostable packaging came into view for policymakers and business leaders from across the region. As a result, ASEAN retailers, distributors and F&B chains can now see a Vietnamese supplier working on practical alternatives.

Our message to ASEAN partners is simple. First, packaging should fit real products and real operations. Next, every environmental claim needs a certificate behind it. Finally, a regional supplier can shorten the path from pilot to full order.

Inclusive From Farm to Shelf

HAPBIO uses renewable feedstocks such as sugarcane bagasse and plant starches from corn, cassava and potato. Many are agricultural by-products. In practice, this links packaging to the farm economy across our region.

Meanwhile, our factory in Hung Yen has run since January 2026. It has a design capacity of 34,000 tons per year. Our product range covers shopping, garbage, produce, food, mailer and pet waste bags. It includes products certified OK compost INDUSTRIAL and OK compost HOME by TÜV AUSTRIA. It also includes BPI Certified Compostable products for industrial composting facilities.
